Prelude: "To Zanarkand" by Nobuo Uematsu
"Eyes on Me" by Nobuo Uematsu
Processional: "1000 Words" by Nobuo Uematsu
(That was the idea.  Due to the lack of rehearsal, we walked out to "Eyes on Me."  It still worked pretty well, but made lining everything else up a bit difficult.)

Officiant: Honored guests, we are gathered together this evening to bear witness to the union of Brittany and Jer.  Tonight, they stand before their families to formalize the commitment to each other that they have already made in their hearts.  On their behalf, I would like to thank you all for making the journey to be here, as well as those who are watching from afar but here in spirit.  These two lovers of theater and literature have chosen to wed on the birthday of William Shakespeare, so they have chosen a reading from the Bard which discusses the nature of marriage.

Groom's Stepsister: (Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare)
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Officiant: Brittany, do you take Jer as your lawfully wedded husband, to be joined in love and partnership through all of life's joys and struggles, until death parts you?

Bride: I do.

Officiant: Jer, do you take Brittany as your lawfully wedded wife, to be joined in love and partnership through all of life's joys and struggles, until death parts you?

Groom: I do.

Officiant:  Throughout the world, drinking is an activity that brings people together. Alcohol is also used to mark important periods of transition. For this reason, Brittany and Jer have chosen to prepare a special drink to signal the beginning of their union.  Every cocktail needs a base, just as every relationship needs a foundation of support and trust, not only between each other, but between family and friends as well. We represent this with vodka.

For many cultures, raspberries have been symbols of protection. The Chambord also represents the spark of fun and passion that brought you together.

Officiant: You add white chocolate for the love and deep devotion you share.

Officiant: Finally, cream, to bring you peace, serenity, and growth.

Now, together you will combine these diverse elements so that they work together in harmony. Just as no one element overpowers another, so you come together today in equal partnership.

Officiant: This is your bond. What has been joined here can never again be separated. From this, you will take the strength, warmth, and courage that will support you for the rest of your lives. Ahead of you lies much that is bitter, and much more that is sweet, but by sharing in this drink, you pledge to face it all together.

Officiant: At this time, Brittany and Jer have prepared their own vows.

Bride: (Vows go here)

Officiant:  May I have the rings, please?

Circles have no beginning and no end, and so in the long and sacred tradition of marriage, rings have come to symbolize eternal love and endless union of body, of mind, and of the spirit.  Jer, please place the ring on Brittany's finger and repeat after me:  This ring is a symbol of my love and faithfulness--

Groom:  This ring is a symbol of my love and faithfulness--

Officiant:  And with all that I am and all that I have--

Groom:  And with all that I am and all that I have--

Officiant:  I honor you, and pledge to you my love and life.

Groom:  I honor you, and pledge to you my love and life.

Officiant:  Finally, Jer, please place Brittany's engagement ring over her wedding ring, as the promise it symbolizes has now been fulfilled.

Officiant:  Now you will feel no rain, for you will be shelter to each other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no more loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two bodies, but there is only one life before you. Now you enter into the days of your togetherness. May your days be good and long upon the earth.

By the power of your love and commitment, and the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife.  Hit it, skips!
